How JTec improves the performance of Olympus' OM-D E-M5 Camera
- L-bracket allows tripod mounting in both landscape and portrait position
- Helps get perfect panoramas
- Tripod mounting eliminates shake for detailed landscapes or architectural shots
An L-bracket expands the utility of a camera by allowing the photographer to
- Mount the camera to a tripod
- To mount the camera to the tripod in two orientations: landscape and portrait
Mounting to a tripod is important because it eliminates movement of the camera caused
by the inherent unsteadiness of holding a camera and pressing the shutter. With the in-camera stabilization
of the OM-D E-M5, some of this problem is mitigated, but a tripod is still essential for shake-free photos.
What's also nice about an L-bracket is that the camera can be mounted in both the
landscape mode, for wide panoramas, and in portrait mode, for portraits, or for panoramas made with an
emphasis on height rather than width.
Our L-bracket for the OM-D E-M5 is made from 6061 aluminum billet and machined to fit
snugly against the camera body. In fact, the design, which includes rubber feet, ensures there is no
movement between the L-Bracket and the camera body. Like all our parts, the raw aluminum is bead blasted
and tumble deburred after machining, cleaned, and then anodized in black to match the camera.
The L-bracket is designed to fit the standard Arca Swiss style tripod head.
"Quickly release, turn, and remount your camera for either a horizontal or vertical shot
no more flipping your tripod head on its side or upsetting your shooting position. These plates work
especially well when you're using shorter macro, wide-angle, and tilt-shift lenses."
