Will your parts for the NEX-5 fit the NEX-3 and the NEX-5N?
The cold shoe fits both the NEX-3 (with an adapter) and the NEX-5. The camera plate and L-bracket are not compatible with the NEX-3 because of the contoured shape of the bottom of the NEX-5. All the NEX-5 components fit the NEX-5N.
Why do I need a cold shoe?
End the need to hold your camera at arm’s length by attaching a viewfinder to take your photo. Holding the camera to your eye is steadier, and you not only have clear framing lines, but you can see “around” your photo, allowing easy adjustment of your composition.
Why do I need an L-bracket or a camera plate?
Tripod mounting eliminates shake for all types of photographs. The use of an L-bracket or camera plate and a clamping head allows the camera to be quickly mounted and removed from the tripod. The camera plate is more compact, but the L-bracket allows mounting the camera in both landscape and portrait position. The use of either one will improve your photography immensely.
